Edible flowers include citrus blossom, clover, daisies, dandelions, hibiscus, honeysuckle, lavender, lilac, mums, nasturtium, pansies, roses, sunflowers and violets, among others. Flowers add delicacy to the food and the burst of colour, flavour, and beauty; especially salads, beverages, sauces, desserts.

 

 Herbs are plants that are grown for their medicinal, aromatic, and/or seasoning.

  • Herbs, spices, and edible flowers can pack in just as much nutrition as vegetables! Just like green leafy vegetables, fresh herbs contain large amounts of vitamins A, C and K. Many herb plants also contain polyphenols. Polyphenols are plant compounds that have both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capabilities.
